17th Annual "Wiener Nationals": 350 of the speediest wiener-dogs in San Diego competed in the "Wiener Nationals" at Qualcomm Stadium.

Wiener Dog National Races in San Diego
The Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl invites you to join them Saturday, August 3rd, at Qualcomm Stadium for the 17th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals.
The top sixteen dogs from the qualifying round will advance to the San Diego final in on Sunday, September 1st at the Del Mar Race Track.
The top dog from San Diego will advance to the championship at the Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade.
This year's finalists will receive the opportunity to march with the Wienerschnitzel float in the nationally televised parade. Any dachshund may participate!
Time:
8 am - Registration/Check-in
9 am - First Races
Location: Qualcomm Stadium Rugby Fields (Near Section J-5 in the Stadium Parking Lot)

Admission to the event is free to humans and non-racing dogs.
T-Shirts are for the owners (not the dogs!), and sizes are not guaranteed.

This Year Mila Miesner will be racing at this event. She recently got to act in the movie “Wiener Dog Nationals”. The Movie ties into the upcoming Wiener Dog races which the movie is based on. She has raced in the dachshund races in San Diego for 5 years coming in the top two or three every time. She is also the poster dog for the Races up in Los Alamitos. So even though this Movie is fictitious it is one she can relate to.She got to play Shelly Jack a runt of a dachshund from a shelter a family adopts and Only time will tell if little 'Shelly' and her new family are up for the challenges of entering the nation's greatest wiener dog race, Wienerschnitzel's 'Wiener Dog Nationals.'
The movie has been a very big splash in the Dog and Kid world and Mila would like to share this Movie with her Fan. So come down and watch her race and stop by her tent. You won't be able to miss it she will have her banners flying. Stop by say hello and get a Padagraph. They will have a picture of the cover of the movie with her very own paw print on the back.

Wiener Dog Nationals Movie ....
Fox LA's Mar Yvette, Weekend Round Up....
It's a wiener wonderland with the adorable woofs from the new family movie "Wiener Dog Nationals" starring Morgan Fairchild, Alicia Witt and Jason London. The official premiere isn't until June 18, but you can enjoy a FREE advance screening this Saturday, June 8 at the Special Olympics at Cal State Long Beach. To celebrate, we have a few of the film's stars including canine celebs "Shelly" and "Handshake" and cast members Austin Anderson and Caitlin Carmichael. Tickets to the premiere can be purchased HERE or you can enter to win tickets by following @WDN_movie on Twitter.I was a great day we not only got a seek peak at some of the Items going in the Swag Bags at the Premier.. We got to meet Betty White and do a few tricks for her.

Winner of the San Diego Dachshund Races, Reggie Racer and a long time
local favorite Mila Miesner to Star in a Newport Beach Film Festival Movie
showing of “Wiener Dog
Nationals”. This fun Family movie all will want to see, is debuting
to sold-out theater crowds. The Wiener Dog National Movie was the first Movie
to sell out its showing at the Newport Beach Film Festival, so another viewing
was scheduled. This time NBF chose a larger venue for the second movies
showing, which in turn also sold out quickly. So a Third show was also added.

A little boy (Julian Feder) and his family adopt a runt of a
dachshund from a shelter and name her "Shelly," in honor of shelter
dogs everywhere. Despite all odds, the dog surprises the boy's father (Jason
London) when it places in the state trials of the illustrious Wiener Dog Nationals
Race. The family pulls all of its resources to advance to the next round only
to face strong opposition from the reigning champion dog, Princess and her
owner Ms. Merryweather (Morgan Fairchild). Meanwhile, Melanie (Alicia Witt),
one of the racing judges, is banned from the races by the head Judge (Bryan
Batt) when shetries to help the family prove that Ms. Merryweather is cheating.
Relying only on the dog's skill and her young owner's Passion for the race,
little Shelly and her new family must face the challenge of advancing through
the cut throat world of the nation's greatest wiener dog race,
Wienerschnitzel's "Wiener Dog Nationals."
